We get it — hiring an interior designer in can feel intimidating. Between concerns about budget, timelines, and surrendering control, you may feel hesitant to hand over the style reins.
That’s why we pride ourselves on a relationship-first approach.
It’s not just the trust forged between you and us (although we like to think we’ll be great friends by the end of your project!). It’s also the focus we put on your family. With your specific desires in mind, we curate finishes, fabrics, furniture, and an overall experience that feels both elevated and easy.
We’re real team players around here (and not just because Amanda’s obsessed with football)
Before she was winning her own Paper City Design Awards or landing eight-page spreads in Southern Living, Amanda gained real-time experience working for other award-winning design firms in Houston. After honing her unique aesthetic — and desiring to help clients do the same — she opened Amanda Simmons Interiors in 2016. Amanda now leads a team of five skilled women to execute high-end residential design projects in Houston, with out of state projects completed in Florida, North Carolina, Connecticut, and beyond.
A proud Texas A&M grad (Gig ‘em!), Amanda is as passionate about personalized interior design as she is about college football. If she’s not visiting your site, sourcing one-of-a-kind elements for your project, or holding meetings at the ASI office, she’s probably hanging out in her pink kitchen with her husband, daughter, and rescue dog — ideally with Thai takeout.
Owner & Principal Designer
After graduating from the University of Southern Mississippi with an interior design degree, Audrey moved to Houston to work with Amanda in 2018. And she hasn’t looked back since — especially because she met her husband here, and they’re now expecting their first child! When she isn’t helping manage and execute your design project with poise, she might be hiking with her two rescue dogs and/or drinking Diet Coke.
Favorite Fabric: GP&J Baker Magnolia in Cream/Blue
Design Assistant
With an architecture degree and art history minor from Texas A&M, Camilla has spent the past 3+ years assisting design projects at ASI. She loves to pair traditional pieces with an eclectic flair — which makes sense, considering her hobbies include both sewing and musical theater. It’s where she met her husband… and yes, she’ll sing if you ask. Or maybe even if you don’t.
Favorite Paint Color: Any soft, dusty pink by Farrow & Ball
Design Assistant
As a lover of fashion, beauty, and food, Grace always wanted to be in a creative space — and in 2023, she found one at ASI. With a marketing degree from the University of Mississippi and a sales and recruiting background, she helps create content, manage social media, and keep our team (and your project) on track. Outside the office, Grace can be found chasing her redheaded boy, sharing an extra-dirty martini with her husband, or performing “Goodbye Earl” at karaoke.
Favorite Patterns: Florals and stripes
Office Administrator
After following Amanda’s design career since college at Texas A&M, where she graduated with a sociology degree, Liz has been working with ASI for nearly two years. Along with Grace, she helps with procurement, billing, and other project support — AKA all the logistics needed to pull off your design to perfection. As a wife and mom of two girls (and two elderly dogs), Liz spends her free time traveling, reading, and fighting over the last office Diet Coke with Audrey.
Favorite hobbies: Thrifting for antiques and designer clothes
